Shedrow Barns

These barns generally have a porch in front of the stalls with many sizes and options available. Most porch overhangs are supported by 2 3/8" full weight (sch 40) pipe posts, and are available in a variety of sizes.  6' and 12' are most common.  We can also extend the walls to cover part of the overhang  for additional windbreak.  The corral runs are usually behind the building, with 6' wide back stall doors opening into the runs.  However, the corrals can also extend out from underneath the overhang. Color sheeting, hay rooms, feeders mounted outside the stalls, and tack rooms are the most common options.  The stall fronts under the overhang are often sheeted for additional windbreak.  Other options include larger foaling stalls, open storage areas, skylights, gutter, etc. Most stall walls have a 2" x 4" stud wire wall lining to prevent horses from kicking the sheeting from inside the stalls.  Wire is common on dividers and on the stall fronts also to prevent casting.  Depending on the temperament of your horses, wire can be added to exterior panels or eliminated for a typical 4 or 5 rail spacing. Installation is available in our normal service area, or we can provide a kit with installation instructions for do-it- yourselfers and contractors.  As with all construction, site preparation is very important.  A flat and level site is critical to a safe and functional end product. All walls are constructed of 1 7/8" galvanized pipe, with our 1 5/8" engineered sleeve connections to roof purlins and concrete.  This allows the building to be relocated in the future. Concrete footings are generally drilled and placed below grade.  We can also provide a plan for a continuous footing under the walls or a slab for a storage area. These buildings are made to order in our shop, so custom requests are welcome.  NOTE: BUILDING DIMENSIONS GENERALLY DO NOT INCLUDE OVERHANG.  OVERHANGS ARE DIMENSIONED SEPARATELY UNLESS ENCLOSED.
